World of Tanks / by Benjamin Sawyer

Sounds lame? Sounds neat? I wasn't sure what to think of it when I first heard about it. So far, "World of Tanks" is in an invite-only beta phase at the moment, and I was lucky enough to get an invite and a beta code to download on my Xbox 360.

This has to be such an interesting take on gaming. It's weird to play something so different. The premise is a competitive game such as in Call of Duty or Halo where you play as humans defeating other humans, but instead you play as mechanical war tanks defeating other tanks.

There is a bit of a learning curve, especially if you're not good at teamwork. This game is all about it. If you go solo, your entire team is bound to be screwed over. In the only beta gametype available at the moment, you either have to destroy all the other tanks on the opposing team, or capture their base... and there's NO respawning. There is an upgrade system, and overall this game is very capturing. It's grabbed my interest, and I suggest you all take a look at it. This could be a nice change of scenery for gaming.
