Infinity Ward and Activision have released a video that shows their new cooperative game mode that could be replacing the Zombies we've grown to love: Extinction mode. Odds are it won't entirely replace it, but rather just be an additional mode alongside Zombies. Extinction, however, looks like the next biggest thing for a series that has become stagnant with similarity over the years.
Like Zombies, Extinction pits four players in an environment where they must survive. The difference is that there is a tangible objective - destroying some alien looking thing - and once it is finished, you win. While doing this, there are hundreds of little alien mutant things running at you. The game mode looks very fun, different, and exciting. I feel that unlike Zombies, which eventually boiled down to a strategy and science, Extinction will be a lot more chaotic and random. Even if this is not the case, the newness of it will make many CoD fans excited and may bring in more gamers who have shied away from the series because of the lack of new mind-blowing features.
Call of Duty: Ghosts comes out on Playstation 4 on November 15th and Xbox One November 22nd, so it won't be long before we can all try out this new game mode. Watcht the video by clicking the link below.
