Bounty Board 003: DLC by Caleb Sawyer

Hey everyone! This week we dive into downloadable content (DLC), one of the more contentious points in the videgame industry. DLC has been around for about 15 years now (on consoles) and with them has come dozens of new ways for games to deliver content to their fans post game release. Not all of the methods explored are liked. Some are the ideal way to deliver the story and content. Take a minute and listen to us this week as we dig deeper into this conflicted topic.

Also! You can now find us on iTunes  and Stitcher! So whether you have an Apple or Android device, we are available for streaming and download. Give us a rating and a subscribe, we would really appreciate it.

NerdyBits Podcast: Happy Badgers Studio by Benjamin Sawyer

We went back to Happy Badgers Studio this week and met with the team to talk about them. Who they are, why they do what they do, and what they love about doing it. Big advocates for game makers in the Midwest, Happy Badgers also talked about why St. Louis excites them and motivates them.

We can't emphasize enough how awesome this group is. Give this episode a listen. This podcast is the beginning of our look into the St. Louis game developer scene, so stay tuned, we plan to have more soon.

NerdyBits Podcast: GamerGate by Benjamin Sawyer

We wrap up the podcasts from our first recording session with our discussion on last year's GamerGate. We all know how touchy the topic can be, and we did our best here to remain as objective as possible. But in the end, when it came down to it, we all felt the same way: The way women are portrayed in the videogame industry, be it in games themselves, or their participation in the development process, needs to change for the better. After all, women make up nearly half of the gaming community. Shouldn't they get a fair shake?

NerdyBits Podcast: Individual GOTY by Benjamin Sawyer

Well it has been a little longer in between these podcasts than I originally had planned. I apologize for that. Had a few personal issues that had to be dealt with and when that was over my computer decided to not connect to the internet...

But enough with all of that! It is time for you to hear our 2014 Individual Game of the Year Awards! Listen to us debate who deserves the title of best game last year. We promise you'll enjoy it.

When you are finished with that prepare for our Game Awards Show, releasing soon.

Speaking Points:

Final Fantasy: Lightning Returns
Nintendo
Console Wars (a little bit)
Titanfall Goes Gold
Remembering E3 2013
Star Wars
